Texas’ burdensome ballot access laws make it unnecessarily difficult for new and smaller parties to share their messages with voters. The two-party system is so entrenched in our election process that other parties have a hard time getting the attention of voters. katija gruene, of the Green Party of Texas, acknowledges that changing ballot access laws to create a fairer process for minor parties would not have an immediate or drastic impact on state policy, but it would help to create an environment in which legislators would be open to perspectives outside the party lines.
Texans for Voter Choice believes that a diversity of perspectives in the election process would lead to better conversations on public policy in government. If you agree that Texas should change ballot access laws so that a wider variety of issues will be addressed, join our #flushthesystem campaign.
